Australasian College for Emergency Medicine
Advanced trainees in Emergency Medicine: successful completion satisfies the research requirement of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM).

The course is made up of two postgraduate units Emergency Medicine Research Methods and Evidence Based Medicine (12 credit points).

Research Methods
This subject covers:

  • Introduction to research methods used in observational studies
  • Practical skills required in the design and assessmentof a research project
  • Protocol design, including study type selection, introduction to questionnaire design, sampling methods, and ethics approval
  • Planning data management and statictical analysis and developing a study budget
