Dr Michael Nunan

Dr Michael Nunan is a health systems specialist who has worked in international development for 15 years. Michael spent over five years living and working in Solomon Islands and has since worked extensively across the Pacific, Asia and Africa funded by organisations including the World Food Program, UNICEF, UNFPA, WHO and DFAT.

Originally a pharmacist, Michael has an MPH from Sydney University and a PhD from Melbourne University, where he had previously worked as a research fellow at the Centre for International Child Health.

Michael is a Director of Beyond Essential Systems and leads their work on: Tupaia, an end-to-end data platform used across 12 Pacific Island Countries and; Tamanu, a free and open-source patient-level electronic medical records system for desktop and mobile.
