Advanced Trainee in Emergency Medicine
Dr Marina Guertin
Dr Marina Guertin is an advanced trainee in emergency medicine at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne. She has a strong interest in global emergency care and medical education. Marina worked with Médécins Sans Frontières on a paediatric project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, taught with Pangea Global Health Education in Malawi, and has been a clinical skills tutor for local medical students in Melbourne.
Originally from the United States, Marina lived in Canada and France before coming to Australia for medical school. Marina recently completed a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Melbourne; her research thesis focused on burden of emergency disease in the Pacific. She also holds a DTM&H from the Gorgas Course in Clinical Tropical Medicine in Peru, and completed her DRANZCOG at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne.
