Dr Fatima Rahman is currently the Deputy Director for Emergency Services at Alfred Health.
Dr Rahman obtained her medical degree in Johannesburg and has worked in various critical care settings in the UK before settling in Australia. She completed her fellowship with the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine in 2010 and was subsequently appointed as the inaugural Trauma Fellow at the Alfred Hospital. Since then she has worked as an Emergency Physician and Trauma Consultant at Alfred Health.
Dr Rahman is experienced in facilitating and delivering education in courses both nationally and internationally. She has a special interest in trauma management, trauma systems and in development & training. Her topics of interest include Trauma Reception and Resuscitation & Emergency Leadership.
In addition to an active interest in education and quality improvement, she is invested in improving patient flow and safety within the Emergency Department setting.
